Couples Therapy

Relationships are not static—they are living systems that evolve alongside us. The challenges that bring couples to therapy are often not signs that something is wrong, but invitations to understand one another more deeply and create new ways of relating.

Many couples arrive feeling caught in repetitive cycles of conflict, distance, criticism, defensiveness, resentment, or disconnection. Despite their best intentions, they find themselves having the same arguments over and over again, struggling to communicate their needs, or longing to feel understood by the person they love most.

In our work together, get under the surface of the content of what you are arguing about, but on the patterns beneath the conflict. Together, we explore the ways each partner instinctively protects themselves when feeling hurt, unseen, afraid, or vulnerable and how these protective strategies can unintentionally create disconnection.

Conflict itself is not the problem. In fact, healthy conflict can be one of the most powerful catalysts for growth, intimacy, and transformation. The goal is not to eliminate disagreements, but to develop the capacity to navigate them with greater awareness, honesty, and care.

Couples therapy offers an opportunity to slow down the conversation, understand one another's emotional worlds, and learn new ways of communicating that foster trust, repair, and connection. As we begin to recognize the patterns that keep you stuck, new possibilities emerge—for deeper intimacy, healthier boundaries, renewed desire, and a more resilient partnership.

Whether you are navigating a crisis, recovering from betrayal, facing a major life transition, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, therapy can help you move from reactivity toward intentionality and from disconnection toward genuine connection.

My approach draws from Attachment Theory, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and psychodynamic perspectives, while remaining tailored to the unique needs of each relationship.
